The New York Times (With Just One Word, Brandeis Is Trying to Change College Shopping) and Forbes (Brandeis’ New AI Tool Upends Admissions With Price Transparency) recently spotlighted Brandeis University and Noodle for the launch of Faye, a groundbreaking AI financial aid tool that provides prospective students a definitive look at their tuition costs before they even apply.
The tool calculates both need-based and merit aid in real time. Through a guided conversation, Faye gathers academic and financial data to return a firm price, contingent on the accuracy of the information provided.
Unlike standard net price calculators, which often miss the mark by thousands of dollars, Faye intentionally uses the word “will” to provide families with a reliable financial commitment. With 82% of Brandeis students currently receiving scholarships, the university expects Faye to be a vital resource for middle and upper-middle-income families, whose actual net price is often significantly lower than the published tuition rate of $76,000.
“It’s the right thing to do,” said Brandeis President Arthur Levine.
